Bonafide Pathways participants gain access to college adjustment support programs, global leadership formation programs, mentoring, and a community of peers, alumni, mentors, and industry experts who all share in the mission of working for a better Philippines and a better world.

Our applications run from January 22 to March 3, 2024.

General Qualifications

Applicants must…
✔ Be a Grade 11 student in Metro Manila or neighboring areas as of SY 2023-24;
✔ Be in good academic standing, with no failing marks in any subjects;
✔ Have plans to pursue a college degree;
✔ Be in need of financial assistance;
✔ Be committed to participating in a leadership development program until they graduate from college;
✔ Be willing to travel to the Ateneo campus in Quezon City to attend face-to-face activities/events;
✔ Believe in working for a better Philippines and a better world.

Application Procedure

  • All applicants must have a Google Mail (Gmail) account. If you do not have one yet, create an account here: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp?hl=en 
  • Prepare a scanned copy of the following. You will need to upload these in your online application form.
    1. Your 1×1 or 2×2 picture– in JPEG or PNG format
    2. Your Grade 7 to 10 report cards (Form 138 or SF 9) or JHS Permanent Record (Form 137 or SF 10) – saved into one file
      • For ALS students, kindly submit your AF5 instead.

Note: If you pass the initial screening process, you will be asked to submit another set of required documents to Pathways. Please refer to the list below.

You are not required to print out and accomplish this guide, but you may do so if you think it will help you fill out the online application form much faster. 

  • After submitting your online application form, you will receive an email with your Pathways ID Number and instructions on what to do next within one week.

Supporting Documents Needed

All documents must be clear, scanned copies in .jpg or .pdf format.

  1. Birth Certificate (saved as one file)
  2. Electric and water bills for one month (latest bills; saved as separate files)
    • If the bill is under a different name or address (not that of the applicant, parent or guardian), please explain why.
  3. Clear photo of the following (saved as separate files)
    • Front view of the house
    • Kitchen area
    • Living room area
    • Bedroom/s (if more than one bedroom, save all in one file only)
    • Family picture
  4. Financial documents of each parent or guardian (one file per parent/guardian)
    • For employed individuals, any one of the following: 1) certificate of employment and compensation (salary must be indicated), 2) latest annual income tax return, 3) payslips of the last three months
    • For OFW individuals: 1) employment contract with salary indicated
    • For individuals with business: 1) latest annual income tax return
    • If the parent or guardian cannot submit the required documents, please submit a letter explaining why.
  5. Personal essay from the applicant (in English or Filipino)
    • Write an essay that will introduce yourself and tell us about who you are as a person. It could be handwritten (must be legibly written, scanned, and saved as PDF) or typewritten (saved as PDF).
    • Describe yourself, your likes and dislikes, your strengths and weaknesses, etc. Share the beliefs, the values and the principles that you hold dear and that you strive to live out in your life. 
  6. Letter from the parent/guardian to the Pathways Screening Committee explaining the family’s current situation (in English or Filipino; must be readable)
    • Introduce the members of your family. If you have relatives or other people living with you in the house, provide information about them as well. 
    • Describe where the family’s income comes from. Describe the ordinary and the out-of-the-ordinary expenses of your household. If you have relatives or other people living in the house, explain how they contribute to the family’s income and how you divide the expenses among yourselves. 
    • Tell us whether the income is enough or not for the family’s needs/expenses. Also explain why this has become the situation of your family. 
    • State why you want to apply and be a part of Pathways even if there is no promise of financial assistance.
