The Ignatian Initiative for Teacher Excellence (or IGNITE) was established to offer a comprehensive and holistic Ignatian staff formation program for Jesuit schools and universities not only in the Philippines, but also to the Asia Pacific region.

Its program can be described as:

  • designed by practitioners for practitioners;
  • employing the approach of Reflection on Practice;
  • drawing from the participants’ “wisdom of practice”; and
  • conducted by an international team of Ignatian education experts and professionals.

There are currently three streeams of Ignatian Formation:

  • Workshop on Ignatian Spirituality (WISE): Envisioned as an ongoing formation on Ignatian Spirituality as the foundation of. our work in education, intended for both our teaching and non-teaching staff members, including our schools’ top management.
  • Training in Ignatian Learning & Teaching (TILT): Designed to train teachers and academic heads in the philosophy and principles of Ignatian Pedagogy, as well as the characteristics of Jesuit Education.
  • Workshop on Ignatian School Leadership (WISL): Conceptualized as an ongoing training in Ignatian Leadership for our educational leaders and administrators.

The IGNITE Program is managed in partnership with the Education Secretariat of the Jesuit Conference for Asia Pacific.
