GBSEALD, in partnership with the Boston College Lynch School of Education and Human Development, hosted the 2nd International Conference on Educational Frontiers (EducFrontiers 2021), which was held virtually on 19 to 20 November 2021. The conference brought together various education stakeholders in one event to address issues that concern the conference theme, THE GLOBAL EDUCATION EXPERIMENT: LESSONS THAT INSPIRE THE FUTURE.

Among the highlights of the event were plenary presentations from top-notch educators whose cutting-edge research projects were shared with the participants. The conference was keynoted by Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Plenary speakers included Rosemary Luckin, Professor of Learner Centred Design at University College London (UCL); Brian K Smith, the Honorable David S. Nelson Professor and Associate Dean of Research at Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development; Lim Cher Ping, Chair Professor of Learning Technologies and Innovation at The Education University of Hong Kong; and Johnny Go, S. J., founding Dean of the Ateneo de Manila University – GBSEALD.

The conference also served as the official launch of the partnership between the Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design and Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development.  Both schools have expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration as it creates many opportunities for meaningful learning exchanges between their faculties and students.

The EducFrontiers 2021 cConference had over 400 participants in total with 121 paper presenters, 39 poster presenters, 14 workshop facilitators, and 264 attendees from within and beyond the Philippines. As a virtual conference, EducFrontiers will remain accessible to the participants for a month after the end of the event.
