Teaching Physics for Junior High School Teachers
This workshop covers selected topics of Grade 8 Physics: Acceleration, Newton’s Laws of Motion and Work, potential energy and kinetic energy. The seminar/workshop will focus on the common student misconceptions and how to address these misconceptions using online teaching strategies.
At the end of the 3-day seminar/workshop the participants are expected to
a. identify common student misconceptions in kinematics, dynamics, work and mechanical energy based on research literature;
b. discuss and demonstrate different online strategies which address these misconceptions; and
c. design lesson plans for Grade 8 Physics which integrate the concepts and teaching strategies learned from the seminar/workshp.
