Media and Information Literacy in the Classroom
A collection of experiences and discussions for teachers and administrators who want to integrate MIL into their curriculum and practices at different grade levels. Topics include artificial intelligence, media manipulation, practical fact-checking tools, multiculturality, and critical thinking as a vaccine against the infodemic.
Course Objectives:
1. To describe the infodemic the world is experiencing and its mechanisms of transmission.
2. To name the biases, heuristics, and other tendencies that make us vulnerable.
3. To propose solutions and rules of thumb to keep us free and healthy.
4. To concretely and seamlessly integrate Media and Information Literacy into our school curricula and classroom practices.
