Facilitating A Thriving Community of Practice for Teachers
This workshop will focus on helping teacher leaders initiate and cultivate successful communities of practice in their schools and organizations.
At the end of the workshop, teachers will be able to (1) Understand the key principles in facilitating and creating thriving communities of practice (2) Apply insights on adult learning theory and latest research on lifelong learning in planning out an effective continuing professional development initiative in one’s context (3) Design ground rules to cultivate a more harmonious and collaborative community of practice in one’s context (4) Facilitate learning sessions for teachers to reflect on and deepen their motivations and mindsets in the teaching practice in relation to their professional identity, and apply insights learned from discussions
